Overview

The course equips participants with the knowledge and skills required to reduce and manage road risk across a fleet operation.

Topics include:

• Moral, economic and legal reasons for safe driving
• Qualities of a safe driver
• Safe urban driving
• Safe rural driving
• Safe motorway driving
• Vehicle safety

This course is delivered in two parts / modules – theory and practical.

During the practical session delegates each ride a bicycle and cycle in a group, led by the trainer on local roads to increase awareness of hazards and issues faced by vulnerable road users.  This exercise explores driver attitude, perception and the risks associated with urban driving.
